Buddug James Jones is a theatre designer and a performance artist. Originally from West Wales, she graduated at Wimbledon College of Art with a BA in Theatre: Design for Performance and is currently based in London. During her studies, she has developed skills in set design and construction, costume design and making, lighting design and model making. Buddug has worked in theatre, dance and site-specific with a variety of roles- designing, writing, directing and stage managing. Since 2010 she has been working closely with Bear Trap Theatre Company. She designed their multi award winning debut production, 'Bound' and is now an Artistic Associate of the company. Along side her theatre work, she collaborates closely with the live artist Sarah Catherine Gifford to create works exploring the relationship between fine art and design. Their outcomes vary from paintings to live performances

Hiraeth

Synopsis:
In the summer of 1989, a farmer's wife gives birth to a baby girl named Buddug James Jones. In this moment she became heir to the familys three hundred year old farming dynasty. Desperate to leave, Bud wrestles with the knowledge that her departure sounds the death knell for the family farm. Leaving five generations of tradition behind her as she sets out alone into the big smoke. . . With live music and Welsh cakes, Hiraeth explores the decline of Welsh tradition and identity through one woman's struggle to escape and let go. Winner - IdeasTap Underbelly Award.

Watering Hole, The

Synopsis:
The performance is a celebration of humans animal instincts by comparing men to birds.
