Since graduating from the University of Birmingham in July 2014 with a First Class Honours degree in BA Drama and Theatre Arts, Cassiah has specialised in writing, directing and performance in both theatre and film. She began her career working for director Gurinder Chadha OBE as a Script Reader and for Bend It TV as a Digital Producer/Editor. Although just at the start of her career, Cassiah has worked on many independent film projects, including 'the Bridge' (2014), 'With You' (2015), 'Under My Thumb' (2015), 'Killing Eric' (2015) and 'Waking David' (2015). Additionally, she is a self-shooting freelance filmmaker, and often produces, writes and shoots acting show-reels and music videos. She is also Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Trip The Light Theatre.

Inspired by Georg Buchner 's 'Woyzeck' and using real-life accounts of gender discrimination, this explosive, visual and intimate production explores the struggle to be recognised as an individual in our modern world. Using dynamic dance sequences, original music and a marriage of modern and old text, The Sun Shining On Her Hands is a unique theatrical creation that will leave you wanting more.
