        Change Gon' Come, A

Change Gon' Come, A

Synopsis:
a Change Gon Come is a compelling, commanding and righteous visionary stage production based on the life of Harriet Tubman. In two heart-pounding acts, this original production, explores the history of the African-American people through the eyes of one of our most awe inspiring Americans. the story begins present day with the main character, Helen Taylor, a reporter for KNN News. Helen is a young African-American woman who is seemingly oblivious to the importance and relevance of her ancestral roots. Ironically, she is assigned to write and present a tribute to Harriet Tubman in honor of African American Heritage Month. as she unwillingly contemplates her approach to the assignment, she drifts off to sleep. Through a vivid and riveting dream sequence which introduces brilliant digital imagery and staging, Helen is thrust into slavery as she awakens on a plantation during the mid 1800s. She soon realizes she is no longer Helen. . .With every scene, a Change Gon Come audiences are transported to the front lines of unrelenting, circumstances and choices that Harriet Tubman, and every other slave had to make, if they were to escape to freedom. a Change Gon Come is a web of factual occurrences, enchantment, love, agony, dignity and triumph.a Change Gon Come is not just a production, its a journey; a journey not only into the emotional fullness of the violent, inhumane treatment of slaves, but also, the depth and intricacies of relationships, and family. Through Harriets story we experience the yearning for a better tomorrow, the fear of death, and the unyielding promise of freedom.
