Georgia Keighery's affair with theatre has been long-running and saucy. She co-founded Prompt Theatre with Imara Savage in 1998 and has been writing for the theatre ever since. Her first full-length play The Flats won a commendation at the 2003 Philip Parsons Award and she was a writer for the B'Sharp 24 Hour Play Project in the same year. Her play FiRE was part of Darlinghurst Theatre's In The Raw festival in November 2006, and her monologue Awkward Redemption was performed by Dominik Golding and directed by Emma Sampson as part of the Bits Of Obits Festival in London in 2012. Georgia was a columnist for ArtsHub Australia, a travel writer for SheGoes and she hopes to grow up to be a valid human being one day.

Flats, The
Synopsis:
Raw, shameless and wickedly funny, the Flats is a delirious journey taking you deep inside what your neighbours never wanted you to see! Fling open the closed doors of the FLaTS and play voyeur as the six inhabitants purge their inner most secrets, neuroses, obsessions and darkest desires. there's - the opinionated Jay (Alan Lovell) who loves to have his voice heard, the woman on a mission - Sarah (Wendy Strehlow) who wants to 'liberate' the female genitalia, the effervescently friendly elle (Georgia Keighery), the factoid-obsessed Drew (Cecily Hardy), the testosterone fuelled Vince (Jacob allan), and the 'clock-watching' Dee (Jessica Symes) who's well. . .special! Playing out their lives like a Vaseline smeared glittering game show, the six boisterous inhabitants peel back the cheery facade and delve into fiery, funny and the dauntingly demented underbelly that lies beneath. the Flats juggles violence with farce, fortune with tragedy and madness with love, driven by the cacophonous and spectacular sounds of D.J Simon H live on stage. In 2003 'the Flats' received a Commendation for the Phillip Parsons Young Playwrights award.
