        Carnivores         Deconstructing Dina         Undertow

Carnivores

Synopsis:
A novelist smashes up her car approaching the anniversary of the death of her teenage son. Rattled but not hurt, she opts to spend the weekend at the cottage she still shares with her separated husband - alone with her memories and a well-stocked bar. But her latest lover in a string of affairs drops by to check up on her, and then her husband and his young girlfriend arrive, believing the cottage to be empty. Too late to go elsewhere and hampered by a storm that makes travelling unsafe, this prickly foursome must stay the night together. But the notion of being safer in the cottage is quickly eroded, as insecurities are stoked, and secrets are exposed.

Deconstructing Dina

Synopsis:
A burgeoning yet brittle architect, walled up inside an idealized memory of her late father, finds that everything is squaring off in her life. Her acoustic environment is out of scale. Her beloved cat is dying. Her sidelined mother is jockeying for more involvement. And her boyfriend is pressing her to commit. On top of this, she's quit her job to prepare a design proposal for a game-changing competition. But it's more than just her hopes on the line. Dina is also carrying the weight of her father's unfulfilled architectural dreams - and she's starting to buckle from this load most of all.

Undertow

Synopsis:
Two people "meet" on a social media site. Both characters are literary souls and innate travellers who now reside in cities new to them on opposite sides of the world. They are separated and linked by their experiences with fathers, lovers and, most of all, water. Being "a stranger in a strange land," they begin an online friendship in their parallel universes that skirts romantic interest, amid casual interactions and discussions that evade recent wounds and emotional transgressions. Or is this a catfish? Each harbours a set of lies driven by fears of getting caught, again, in an undertow.
