Synopsis:
People Show 124: the Cuckoo Show had a research and Development period between Monday 11th and Friday 22nd February 2013. We didn-t have any preconceived ideas of what the show would be before we began. We have started projects in this way many times before but this time we asked Venue Programmers, Arts Partners and colleagues to contribute to the content of the project by giving us starting material to devise with. This could be a song, a poem, a picture, a lighting plot, a prop, a costume, a line, a look, a texture& almost anything! the contributors (and anyone else) could then watch the rehearsal on a live stream from People Show studios and comment on how their idea was being developed. Would it be the main thrust of the piece with other ideas built around it? Or discarded after half an hour? Each day the artists evaluated the work along with the comments from outside which informed the process for the next day.
