Bryony Kimmings is a Performance Artist based in the East Region. She creates full-length theatre shows, cabaret works, homemade music, sound installations and documentary films. Her work is larger than life, outrageous, visually loud, often dangerous, somewhat unpredictable but above all fun. Herwork follows real-life social experiments that she embarks upon with genuine genius, intrigue and wholehearted, fearless gusto. Bryony's work has been seen in galleries and theatres across the world, most recently at Frieze Art Fair, Soho Theatre, antifest (Finland), Culturgest (Portugal), Fusebox Festival (Texas), TheSouthbank Centre, Brighton Festival, Duckie, The Roundhouse, The Barbican, Wales Millennium Centre,Latitude, The Secret Garden Party and Assembly. Her 2010 work Sex Idiot won the Total Theatre Award andher 2011 show 7 Day Drunk was awarded a Brick Award nomination and Time Out Critics Choice award.

7 Day Drunk

Synopsis:
7 Day Drunk, is an investigation into the relationship between alcohol and creativity and the well documented historical association between artists and mood altering substances. To test this Bryony will undergo a seven day experiment, designed by a clinical psychologist, a doctor and team of American IT experts, in which she will measure her creative output against different blood alcohol levels. the seven day period will be set up to function like a normal studio week; it will be an intense period of creating work: song, dance, poetry, acts and text inspired by the subject itself; alcohol and its affects on creativity. Bryony will be maintained in a variety of alcohol-induced states by the team and as much as possible continue her creative week as normal. Her artistic output will then be tested and measured in the ways in which the team have devised.

Synopsis:
An on-going gift of a work by Bryony Kimmings. Heartache.Heartbreak. is an endless letter to lost loves across the world. Begun in Portugal as part of a Forest Fringe residency this durational work seeks to eradicate loneliness, love pains and stupid tears by turning heartache and heartbreak into objects of ridicule. This Autumn Kimmings lands in Shepherds Bush and asks its residents for its cures for heartache. Connecting to the psyche of an area, asking its community for soul soup and stories, Kimmings then creates small pieces of performance for those who help her. Each evening these are played out like a jukebox of agony aunt solutions, old wives tales and straight talking slaps. This show is for anyone whose ever cried into soup alone, banged down doors or grasped at their chest in the night. Quick witted, endlessly chatted and oh so totally true. . . join Kimmings as she fights heartache and laughs right at love!

Synopsis:
This is a coming-of-age tale of one hot summer, schoolgirl dreams and those moments in life when the magnificent becomes the mundane. Back in 1990, hopeful property developers built a giant space-ship-shaped restaurant on the side of the A14 near Bryony's home town. Bryony remembers the hysteria cursing through her town as the space ship was constructed - what she remembers more was its sad demise.
