Marfa, Texas, Based On An Almost True Story

Synopsis:
Dangling on the tip of a sword between Mexico and Texas the tiny town of Marfa is 100 miles from nowhere and 200 miles from who cares. But in 1955 Marfa had its brush with fame when Hollywood's hottest stars, Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean rolled into town to film a movie called "Giant." Twenty-five years later, Goody Farris, owner of the town's lone hotel, the Hotel Del Rio, schemes to lure the movie goddess back to Marfa in hopes that Taylor's appearance as honorary guest speaker at the silver anniversary "Giant" festival will stave off financial disaster. However, Goody's dreams are dashed when his phone calls to Warner Bros. goes unanswered. That is, until a stranger- a heartbroken bride who bares a passing resemblance to the glamorous star-stumbles into town.

Southern Exposure, A

Synopsis:
a Southern Exposure is a comedy-drama set in a small town in Kentucky at present. It is the story of Callie Belle Hurt whose idea of love is so unrealistic it could be lifted from the pages of a romance novel. Raised by her grandmother, Hattie, and her two eccentric aunts, Ida and Mattie, Callie Belle stuns her family when she announces that she has fallen in love and is moving to New York city. Not only is Hattie outraged by her granddaughter's rash decision, she is secretly aghast that the "Red, White and Blue" image of Callie Belle that she has carefully crafted will most certainly be tarnished. But Callie Belle is determined and within weeks she is gone. No sooner than she arrives in the city Callie Belle's relationship fails and her dreams of a fairy tale ending are dashed. Then, just as her world brightens, tragedy strikes and she is forced to return home. In the end, Callie Belle and Hattie finally forge the type of relationship they once struggled to attain; one built on acceptance, understanding, and the fiercest kind of love.
