Lucy Kirkwood is an east London born playwright. She won the PMA award in 2006. She is a writer on the ChAnnel 4 programme Skins and is currently resident writer at Clean Break Theatre company. Her first full professional production, Tinderbox,was directed by Josie Rourke and performed at the Bush Theatre, London, in 2008. Her adaption of Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler,entitled Hedda, was directed by Carrie Cracknell and performed at the Gate Theatre later that year. She is currently working on a Sloan commission for the Manhattan Theatre Club and a full-length one-woman show for Clean Break, as well as various television and film projects.

Peckham: Soap Opera

Synopsis:
the lives and loves of Peckham locals will be played out in an omnibus of ten 5 minute episodes. Each episode will be performed by actors from the local community. Somewhere between Peckham High Street and Rye Lane: after an immigration raid at Lashanna's underground hair salon, Ravi encourages her to relocate to the basement beneath Amir's corner shop (unbeknownst to Amir of course). Above ground Ed scouts for a job, though Amir puts him off the scent. Across the way Glenda, Job Centre co-worker Elaine and Joey make a discovery which may force them into a morning commute to Lewisham. While over at the station, Linda loses her cat, but falls for a dapper stranger whose pin-striped garms are new to the Rye.

Lost Dog formed in 2004, their first work Pave up Paradise Burgos won first prize at the International Choreographic competition and second prize at the prestigious Hanover choreographic festival. Since then they have created and toured four full length dance theatre works in the UK and europe to critical acclaim. A delicate woman, deeply in love, marries a man named ernest. every night the newlyweds slip away from their real lives and disappear over the moors into a world of their own creation. there, they are King of the Rabbits and Queen Of the Hares. But as she craves to stay longer and longer in this fantasy world, she soon fears that her husband considers it only a game - one that has already begun to lose its novelty - and the couple hurtle towards quiet, devastating tragedy.
