Jonah began to focus on the craft of writing while in graduate school. He took advantage of the liberal Arts program at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD, to study writing styles across several mediums, concentrating on film and Theatre. His playwriting career grew in 2003 when he was selected to train at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' summer playwriting intensive. Invited back as an alumnus, he continued to study with a number of Theatre dignitaries for two additional years. His play Techies won honorable mention from the American College Theatre Festival, Region II, in 2003, and that same year was used as part of an adult literacy program in Sussex, england. His 10-minute Field Work won second place at the New Voices playwriting festival in Cambridge, Ma, in 2004. He served as the writer-in-residence at the Open Space Arts Center in Reisterstown, MD, from 2002 to 2004, teaching creative writing, playwriting, and filmmaking as well as producing two short play festivals. In 2005, he was approached to direct a developmental reading for the screenplay Probed, produced 2006. From 2004 to 2007, Jonah served as the artistic director of the New Play House in the Washington, DC suburbs-a Theatre company dedicated to the development and production of new plays. In this position he worked with many emerging playwrights in developmental readings and full productions as he continued his own writing. the year 2005 was a big one for Jonah. His play Take Stock was performed at the Kennedy Center's Page-to-Stage New Play Festival and then, based on the play, he was awarded an Individual artist GrANT for Playwriting by the Maryland State Arts Council. That year he also received a commission from the city of Frederick, MD, to write a play commemorating the city's founding, and his one-act Not So Soft was an invited participANT in the Faust International Theatre Festival in Hong Kong. Through much of 2007, Jonah also produced theatrically Speaking, the first podcast dedicated to the art and business of playwriting.

Field Work
Synopsis:
When 15-year old Mindy's Father dragged her to Minnesota for a caterpillar collecting expedition she didn't expect to fall in love with the son of her father's arch rival. as the adults engage in increasingly immature acts of revenge, Mindy begins to see parallels between her situation and Juliet's. enlisting the help of her new beloved, Mindy attempts to forge the peace resulting in not her desired outcome.

Techies
Synopsis:
During the worst tech week in the history of theater the technicians realize that one of them has killed the set designer. as deadlines come-and-go unmet, and with the set in shambles and designs only half-completed, last-ditch efforts are made with some trying to finish the build and others, to ruin it. and the killer strikes again, maybe.
