Louise E. Knowles is an Edinburgh-based writer originally from Aberdeen, Scotland. Louise graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh with a BA (Hons) in Playwriting (2002) and an MFA in Screenwriting (2004). During her studies, Louise won a number of commissions to write for the Acting and Performance degree at QMU and was approached to adapt for film Jo Clifford's stage play God's New Frock, which was screened as part of the Glasgay festival 2004. She also worked as a tutor in Scriptwriting for Adults at Leith Academy. In its inaugural year Louise was selected as a mentee of the Playwrights' Studio Scotland 2004/2005 and was professionally mentored by David Greig. Performances of Louise's plays include Intransit (GRV), co-written in collaboration with The Actors' Kitchen, Edinburgh and staged readings of Listeners Beware!, The Beginning and The End (Traverse Theatre). Louise is a founding member of the playwright's collective The Village Pub Theatre and regularly writes for evenings at The Village Pub in Leith. Previous pub plays include An Alien Is For Life, These Are My Parents and a pantomime co-written with the collective, Leithtivity. In addition to writing, Louise has co-produced the Edinburgh and Glasgow 48 Hour Film Projects since they began in 2008 and 2011.

Synopsis:
Heavily pregnant Mary and the ineffectual Joseph cannot get a room at the Leith Holy Day Inn because superstar Clifton John is switching on the Christmas lights and has taken them all for himself and entourage. Donkey - a talking donkey offers to take them to the Village Pub. When they get there they find that a group therapy session for talking animals is taking place
