Jay Koepke is a playwright and screenwriter from Georgia. His work has been produced/developed at Chicago Dramatists, Mile Square Theatre, Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival, Future Tenant, Samuel French OOB Festival, Jameson Theatre, Well Theatre Group, Polarity Ensemble, Cold Basement Dramatics, Big Box Theatre Company, Brown Theatre, William Patterson University, Valley Repertory Company, and Between Us Productions. His screenplay AFTER OWEN was recently optioned by Tandem Pictures. He's been a finalist for the O'Neill National Playwrights Conference and the New Jersey Playwrights Competition. He's been a semi-finalist with the Bay Area Playwrights Festival. BA: Ithaca College. MFA: Rutgers University.

Synopsis:
In the middle of the night at the tail end of a disastrous anniversary cruise, Deb refuses to face the reality of her failing marriage. When she meets a local friendly bartender named Jake, who is suppressing issues of his own, an unexpected love triangle reveals itself while Deb and Jake make a connection that changes the course of their lives.

Cost of Living, The
Synopsis:
When Alma runs away from an abusive household only to end up in another she is forced to learn what it means to be self-reliant. When Marius sucks her in with a literal marriage contract, Alma finds herself in the middle of a life-threatening situation. Along with Marius' other employees, Alma must decide for herself how high a price she's willing to pay for a monetary comforts and how far she's able to let herself be pushed before she must grow strong enough to end the circle of abuse.

Pietra, or The Stone Baby
Synopsis:
Tate and Russell are a happily married couple; however, if Tate could complain about one thing in their relationship it would be that Russell has not left their home in two years, so when an opportunity presents itself for Tate to reintroduce Russell to society she does, even though it requires lying to her husband. Russell, meanwhile, has secrets of his own and reasons for not leaving the house that his wife would be unable to understand. When Russell finally does leave the comfort and seclusion of their living room, both past secrets and present lies arise and Tate and Russell's lives begin to unravel.

What Makes the Buddha Smile?
Synopsis:
Inez is a young woman separated from her partner unexpectedly when she is cut down in the prime of life. Disoriented and unsure of her circumstances post-death, Inez is forced to grapple with the confusion of death not being the end, the pain of watching her partner Lorraine begin to take steps to move on, and, ultimately, with navigating the hazards of reincarnation. Luckily (or not so) for Inez, she finds a guide in the fledgling bodhisattva Ferdinand and companionship in Tsong, a father who will do anything to be reunited with his daughter and escape this limbo.
