eD. LaNGe is a professional playwright and director. the NYS Theatre Institute (NYSTI), a professional and educational regional Theatre, premiered his mystery-comedy, Sherlock's Secret Life, the audiobook of which won an audie award in Chicago in 2000, and was chosen by the American Library association as a Selected audiobook for Young adults. the play, published by Samuel French, Inc., has been produced at Theatres in New York, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Calgary, Key West, and California. ed. is also the author of a new mystery comedy, Sherlock's Legacy; the book for NYSTI's acclaimed musical Drama Magna Carta; authorized stage adaptations of two mysteries by Mary Higgins Clark; the regional historical Drama, the Heart of Troy - the NYSTI audiobook of which was nominated for a 2005 audie award; Inalienable Rights: Denied which will be performed in 2006 as a staged reading at NYSTI; and Brothers, a Drama about the Vietnam experience. Lange is also NYSTI's principal director, having directed more than 30 productions for the company since 1982, and is a long-time member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Prior to joining NYSTI, Ed was the head of the directing program at Central Connecticut State University. an avid sailor, he and his crew took home a Second Place trophy in the 200-mile around Long Island Regatta aboard his boat Valkyrie. But none of it would have been possible without the love and inspiration of his wife Linda and their daughter Kate.
