Alliance

Synopsis:
Members of the student body, faculty and administration at an elite private boarding school for boys mistakenly believe that Oliver Stratton, the idealistic, newly-hired English teacher, is gay. Troubled by the memory of his best friend in high school whose parents disowned him when he came out, and motivated further by the homophobic community he finds himself in, Oliver chooses to actively promote this misconception about his sexuality in an attempt to be a more credible advocate for two students who have faced derision and physical abuse by their peers. as the play progresses, Oliver finds himself in a reverse closet of sorts, being urged by a female teacher who knows his secret to be honest about who he is, yet fearing the repercussions of letting down the people who want him to be something he's not.
