a young girl rents a room in the home of an artist bringing a window frame with her in memoryof the view from her parents home. She is depressed and instantly intrigues the artist who begins to paint her obsessively.

Six Fingers
Synopsis:
so called because the dour pianist plays with a cigarette in his hand. the scenes between him and his wife and with the alert hooker are staged like Hockney's double portraits, the figures together yet isolated. Hope and dismay are in balance, bridging, in harmony.
