One of the country's most praised new playwrights, Jonathan Leaf was the subject of a feature in Time Out New York which compared him to a young Saul Bellow. Following this, he was nominated in the Innovative Theater (IT) Awards for Best Play of the Year for his play "The Caterers". He has received rave reviews for his plays in The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Daily News, The New Criterion, BroadwayWorld.com, Show Business Weekly, NYTheatre.com and many other publications. In 2007, his play "The Germans In Paris" was the highest-rated play by audience-survey on the Theatermania website of all the plays in New York during the course of its run.
