Born in Bolton, england, Dorothy Lees-Blakey is a French Honours graduate of Manchester University and an associate of the London College of Music (Pianoforte). She came to Canada in 1969 and is now a Canadian Citizen. Dorothy's music has been published, professionally recorded and performed on stage, radio and television both in Canada and in the UK. as a playwright, she has had successful productions, some international, of her musicals, for which she writes book, music and lyrics, and of her Feydeau farce translations. a number of her poems have also been published. She writes songs, both music and lyrics, and has a lengthy list to her credit; she writes theme music for theatrical productions. also a professional actress, Dorothy has appeared on stage, television and film, often in principal roles. Having been raised in england and lived in Scotland, France and Canada, she has a large repertoire of accents, is fluent in French, and takes straight and character roles.
