Babes in the Wood         Cinderella         Dan Leno - the King's Jester         Jack and the Beanstalk         Kings of the Cloth of Gold

Babes in the Wood

Synopsis:
Lidington goes for an eastern european setting with a long, bearded band processing up and down the tiny stage. He brings in cute puppets by the score and makes them essential to a plot in which humans are reduced in size. His babes are a pair of teenage girls (Katie Tranter, Sarah Kearsley) and a pair of nice but rather daft princes (Andy Kelly, Tom Burton) plus there is an ambitious tap dancing rabbit with a Hollywood fixation. then there is a dame (Dominic Goodwin) to be cherished and loved - feared, in a nice way, if you are within her grasping distance. Goodwin has made himself an essential part of Christmas in Richmondshire and way beyond the skyline. Big on size, big on affection and very much a dame for this theatre.

Dan Leno - the King's Jester

Synopsis:
a look at the life of comic genius, Dan Leno, the greatest Music Hall star of all time. the first stand-up comic, the best-loved pantomime dame and the world champion clog dancer with a strong line in character-based skits& Dan Leno was, quite simply, the comic genius of his age. Leno blazed a trail long before Ronnie Barker's monologues, Les Dawson's wordplays or even Chaplin's struggling little tramp. Years on his work is recognised as laying the foundations of contemporary British comedy. With live musical accompaniment this one man show is a silly and energetic romp through entertainment history, bringing the Nineteenth Century showman to life.
