Friendly Relations
Synopsis:
Michael a young Australian is staying with the Watson family for Christmas. anne Watson wants to add him to her list of conquests but Michael shows interest in Margaret, the Watson's ward. the family go to a dance leaving Margaret and Michael at home. Margaret admits to Michael that she loves Dick, the Watson's son. Dick had been unaware of this but as soon as he finds out he obtains a special licence and they marry - with Michael as witness. When anne hears about the marriage she assumes that Margaret married Michael.

Summer In December
Synopsis:
elspeth runs a small seaside hotel. She has been unable to get over the death of her husband during the Second World War. Her childhood friend, Nigel, tries to persuade her to marry him - but she is unable to. Nigel writes an article for a magazine about the people who stayed at the hotel the previous year and how elspeth helped them with their problems.
