Lachlan's Choice Hotel
Synopsis:
Pull up a chair in the Martyr's Bar as Lachlan's Choice Hotel gets its wake up call. a cut-throat competitor, an ambitious new manager and an off the wall marketing scheme must surely invigorate a demoralised staff? A comedy that cuts to the heart of our national psyche, Lachlan's Choice Hotel concerns the fortunes of a rural hotel and its staff as they face hard-nosed competition from a multi - national. the hotel manager decides to relaunch the hotel with its own brand of mineral water from the local burn - 'Bravewater'. As the closure of the hotel is confirmed, an ailing Scottish footballer scores a truly courageous goal in the dying seconds of Scotland's qualifying match after drinking 'Bravewater'. Against all odds, Scotland goes through. Rumours of the mystical powers of the water spread like wild fire. This satirical look at the Scottish ability to steal defeat from the jaws of victory will take you to an uplifting world where you can dream - that water gives you courage and we really have qualified for the World Cup.
