Synopsis:
Raven Williams is a sophisticated New Yorker on tour in europe. Her father was a Merchant Marine whose travelin' shoes fit comfortably under many beds. His imminent death awakens dormant childhood memories and forces her to travel through her past even as she brings us on a whirlwind journey of Germany, Love, Bulgaria, Sex, Switzerland, a Murder Next Door, the Fiji Islands, Heartbreak, Greece, and home to Harlem. With a textured soundscape and images from around the globe and deep inside Raven's psyche, Travelin' Shoes confronts abuse, denial, and the experience of an African-American woman performing on the world stage.
