Herbert Lomas has received Guinness, Arvon, and Cholmondely awards for his poetry. His most recent books have been Selected Poems (Sinclair-Stevenson, 1995) and A Useless Passion (London Magazine Editions, 1999). His Contemporary Finnish Poetry (Bloodaxe, 1991) won the English Poetry Society's biennial translation award; it has reached the status of a classic and made him a Knight First class, Order 0f the White Rose of Finland. He has available a one-hour radio adaptation of Burnt Orange. Mr. Lomas lives in Suffolk, England.
