Bible, The: the Complete Word Of God (Abridged)
Synopsis:
It's apocalypse now as the three cultural guerrillas of the Reduced Shakespeare Company set their reductive sites on the good book with the Bible: the Complete Word of God (abridged). Can bolts of lightning be far behind? Yes, it's an affectionate, irreverent roller coaster ride from fig leaves to Final Judgment as the boys tackle the great theological questions: Did adam and eve have navels? Did Moses really look like Charlton Heston? and why isn't the word 'phonetic' spelled the way it sounds? Whether you are Catholic or atheist, Muslim or Jew, Protestant or Purple People eater, you will be tickled by the RSC's romp through old time religion. Remember. . . Someone is watching.

His Royal Hipness Lord Buckley In the Zam Zam Room
Synopsis:
His Royal Hipness, Lord Buckley. A big hearted, mystic, self-ennobled aristocrat who valorized and satirized the "great and the good" with the hip, egalitarian be-bop language of his "Church of the Living Swing". A man who lived in between the world of Jazz Greats such as Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk and Frank Sinatra, also a life-long friend of Ed Sullivan appearing on his show many times. Campaigning against the stupidity of racism in a segregated America, Buckley's vernacular was the ultimate word jazz and without him there would have been no Lenny Bruce, no Robin Williams, no Dick Gregory, no Richard Pryor. His death, in 1960, is shrouded in mystery, because of the draconian 'Cabaret Card' laws in NYC in the50s, which required performers to register with the police before they could be licensed to do their act. Anyone that the police found objectionable, for any reason could be silence. . .

Satan Sings Mostly Sondheim
Synopsis:
Everyone knows of Satan 'the Dark Lord', but Satan Sings Mostly Sondheim tells the story of Satan the multi-talented, award-winning singer/dancer/actor who came to Earth in the early 1960s because he was very excited about what was happening in the world of musical theatre. It is a chronicle of Satan's desperate attempt to secure the rights to Sondheim's music for a one-night musical extravaganza at the London Palladium. With the help of his New York manager, Robert Schifrin, Satan attempts to sing, dance and schmooze his way into Sondheim's heart - a difficult task, as Sondheim is sceptical of having his name associated with Satan.
