Bacchae, The

Synopsis:
as the god of dance, ecstasy and chaos, Dionysus is a symbol of the raw, primal urges that are often in conflict with civilising forces of order and control. Festival Of Chaos explores the forgotten power of Dionysus, and invites him back to tear apart the comfort and conventions of our material world. a startling new version of Euripides' Greek tragedy The Bacchae opens the Festival of Chaos trilogy and explores a society teetering on the brink of revolution. Staged in a secret location in Northampton and featuring a spectacular original score, audiences are plunged into a frenzied and theatrical world, as Dionysus himself returns to take revenge on a city that's forgotten him.

Original Playwright - Euripides. With Blood Wedding And Hedda Gabler, The Bacchae forms part of 2012's unique trilogy of plays, Festival of Chaos. A two month celebration in Northampton, the Festival explores the contemporary relevance of the god Dionysus. Site specific in the Northampton Chronicle's old print works.

Jungle Book, The

Synopsis:
