Laura Lynn MacDonald is a Milwaukee area playwright, screenwriter and filmmaker. Films include: MaTTReSS WORLD (writer) - Blue Damen Pictures, TRaCKS (associate producer/actress) - Brainstorm Pictures. TRaCKS won the 2009 Jury Prize for Best Feature Film at the Wisconsin Film Festival. Laura Lynn's video: a POeM OF HOPe, featuring children speaking out to the 2008 Presidential candidates, won Shattered Thoughts spoken word contest. Plays include: the DOTTeD LINe* (American Theater Company, the Silver Project), an adaptation of Chekhov's UNCLe VaNYa (TITaN Teatergruppe: Oslo, Norway), CHICaGO CHRONICLe VOL.3 (a docu-Drama about the Logan Square neighborhood in Chicago at American Theater Company), the BLOOD LINeS OF ISaaC DIGGS* (American Theater Company, Chicago Dramatists, American Blues Theater), HIGH ON the MOUNTaIN, a musical celebrating the life of Bluegrass pioneer, Ola Belle Reed, (Americana Play Festival: Banjo Jim's, NYC), an adaptation of Ibsen's PeeR GYNT (Gorilla Rep, Central Park), D'TeNSION* (Milwaukee Repertory Theater 2009 educational Touring Show), and SUBURBaN STaTUeS* (Pink Banana Theatre Company, Broadway Theatre Center, Milwaukee.) Synopsis:
Chicago Chronile Vol. 3 weaves together the stories of two families in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. One story is about an artist creating his own legacy for his family. the other is about a multi-generational family of women who are losing their house because the neighborhood is rapidly gentrifying.
