Playwright and novelist, Frances Madeson, holds degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and the Graduate School and University Center of City University of New York. In addition to her plays, she has written three novels: Restaurant Week, Dancing for the Godfather of Soul and Cooperative Village. Published in May 2007, Cooperative Village is her debut book. Frances performed her one-woman show based on Cooperative Village in a four-week run in NYC May 8-31, 2008. excerpts are available on YouTube.

Set on death row in Sing-Sing prison on June 15, 1953. ethel Rosenberg has four days to live before her execution by the United States government. Her night is filled with dreams, visitations and visions forcing her to confront her life, death and ethel Merman! a beautiful play of betrayal, courage, acceptance and transcendence.

Cooperative Village
Synopsis:
When Frances finds a body in the laundry room of her building in the Lower east Side's Cooperative Village, it sets in motion a bizarrely comic yet terrifying chain of events. as Frances careens, dead body in tow, from laundry room to living room to library, she becomes a victim of Library Card Identity theft (LCIT) and comes under scrutiny of the US Government.
