In an extraordinary but true situation, Jean baptiste is about to face his former friends and allies, now his enemies, on the field of battle. Wellington has given permission for such soldiers to be placed in reserve, away from the scene of battle. Can his family persuade him to take that option? Do they want him to? Elizabeth and Jean pierre say 'don't'; Hector 'yes'. the 12 year old wants to fight alongside his father. This play delves into the male need to fight. A theme with great resonances today (2010).
