Elise Marenson writes for Theatre and film. She has also directed numerous stage plays. Her play WIDe BLOSSOMS was chosen for Best Plays 2008, awarded by Pen and Brush (2009 printing). She wrote and directed STRAIGHT FROM the RIB with twenty-six women's monologues (Triad, NYC). Her one-act plays have been produced in NY, LA, Boston, and DC. She is the recipient of the 2006 Raymond J. Flores Playwriting Award. She wrote, directed, and co-produced award winning short JOANIe AND AMALIA (Festival lnternational du Court Metrage, France). Screenplay finalist: Chesterfield Writers Film Project, FilmMakers International, ScriptapaloozA. As a screenplay consultant, she works with screenwriters at all stages of their careers (takes scripts in English, French, and Spanish). She taught acting and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Actors equity Association.

Help Me, Rhonda
Synopsis:
Margaret and Lance weren't friends in high school. He was the hottest jock, but she wasn't in the popular crowd. Now in middle age, they meet by chance in a cemetery where they are paying their respects to old high school friend, Rhonda. Wide Blossoms
Synopsis:
In the wake of Katrina, a selfish yuppie bumpily finds his conscience and accepts our moral responsibility to one another. James Landry has had a few too many at Boudreau's bar in Baton Rouge where he's been living since he fled his native New Orleans after Katrina. He's getting ready to leave when a mysterious young woman appears, calling him by his first name. "James, why didn't you bring the boat?" Mari asks him. James insists he doesn't know her. "What boat? I don't know what you're talking about?" But Mari persists in calling him on it. the storm left her with nothing but the poems of her grandpa who perished. As the evening goes on, Mari forces James to come out of denial, face his past, and take a first step in looking after someone other than himself.
