Writes domestic wars with comedy and pathos. Born in Essex, grew up in East End London, left school at 14 traveled heaps took drugs and partied hard. Moved to Australia with a two year old son, a T. Chest of toys and fifty quid. Met Ewan McDougall and married a year later. Stopped drugging and started writing in 89. Studied at Otago University, BA Theatre Studies and Post Grad English. First produced play 'Up the Duff' , toured New Zealand, played in London and Edinburgh 1997, translated into Spanish. Performed in Bullies and Blake, second play produced in 2000 . 'Hairway to Heaven' called Best New Play 2007 by The Listener and 'Things I hate about Mother' in 2008.

Bullies and Blake

Synopsis:
A child is being bullied at school. Her mother is writing a thesis on William Blake's The Book of Thel. The mother attempts to protect her child. The school protects itself. Everyone feels bullied. William Blake's Thel says no! A spiritual peace is found.

Hairway to Heaven

Synopsis:
The hairdresser's partner gambles. The apprentice is a young drunk. The customers all have their own drama's that mirror the growing problems of the hairdresser. The apprentice and boss find connection in their men when it's thought the salon is gambled away.

Things I hate about Mother

Synopsis:
The main mother and son eat the final supper. They will never meet again. She wants him to have a male heir and gives him the papers and story of his ancestors, pushing on him the family heirloom, a crystal bowl that he is reluctant to take. Interspersed are small scenes of other mother sons, all use the bowl and show mother caring for baby through to son caring for old mother.

Notes:
A film bringing the Anscestors into the space shows At the start The French nursery Ryhme Fais Dodo to be sung. Hanging washing must be used And A roast dinner is eaten by the main mother And son.

Up the Duff

Synopsis:
Three women connect at their doctors. They are all pregnant. They are a 17 year old druggie who wants 10 kids, a 27 year old artist who wants an abortion and a 37 year old English immigrant delighted to be pregnant by her Maori language tutor. Their families, their lives, birth and death.

Notes:
The three play multiple characters. Three paintings of three stages of A pregnant women Are needed for the Artist character.
