In Time O' Strife

In Time O' Strife
Graham McLaren's adaptation uses fragments of Corrie's other plays, poems and songs. Intensely physical, driven by explosive choreography and an original live soundtrack performed by leading Scottish musicians, the National theatre of Scotland's IN TIME O' STRIFE is a powerful re-imagining of Joe Corrie's rarely performed classic.

Notes:
Joe Corrie was a miner. He wrote IN TIME O' STRIFE in Cardenden, Fife in 1926, while on strike. He wrote to lift the spirits of the local community and to support the soup kitchens that were feeding the starving families. This is an intimate and fiercely emotional production about the Common Man, about workers and gaffers, about families, lovers, despair and triumph.

1st Produced:
Pathhead Hall, Kirkcaldy    02 Oct 2013

Organisations:
National Theatre of Scotland, produced in association with ON at Fife
