Linda lives in Glasgow with a grumpy cat and understanding neighbours. She's been an actor for 20 years and has only relatively recently begun writing, completing an MLitt at Glasgow University and an MATV at Caledonian. She was lucky enough to snag one of the New Playwrights' Awards from Playwrights' Studio Scotland in 2013, which has enabled her to undertake work on a new play, Descent. She's also working on Between Floors, a new on-line television series set entirely in a lift, and on a number of screenplays for TV. She also writes and directs Forum Theatre training programmes for The Good Life Group, a learning disabled peoples' action group. She was a recent finalist in BBC Scotland's Frank Deasy Award, and won the MATV Script of the Year in 2011 and The Gillian Purvis Award for New Writing in 2010.

Descent
MacPherson's Rant
Descent
Synopsis:
What makes you 'you'? What makes you love someone? And is it possible to hold onto it all when everything you share begins to disappear?. . .or are you just clinging to the ghost of what used to be? Descent explores one couple's struggle to keep their love alive in the face of the raging force of dementia. It takes an unflinching look at the guilt, the anger, and the despair they're going through. But it also celebrates the courage, the love, the acceptance, and - even - the hope that they bring to the fight.

MacPherson's Rant
Synopsis:
A gripping tale of love, power and betrayal in 17th Century Scotland. When rantin', rovin' journeyman James MacPherson fulfils a promise to find his long-lost father, Laird Duff of Braco, he doesn't expect that he'll also find the love of his life, Bess Frazer, along the way. But the Laird also has his eye on Bess - and when James attempts to carry her off to a new life together, he risks a terrible fate. Colourful characters, vibrant dance and traditional Scottish songs tell the moving story of MacPherson's Rant, the story of a true and honest love struggling to prevail against the forces of tradition and political power. An ensemble cast of professional actors and musicians will perform alongside a large community chorus and live fiddlers in the St Andrews Creative Place 2012 centrepiece production.
