Deficit Show, The
Synopsis:
From the same team that brought you the Jean Jaques Rousseau Show and Demons comes a show that interrogates the deficit. What does it actually mean? How big is it, really? What can we do about it (apart from sell the NHS, obviously)? In this highly-charged political cabaret, Scotland's most formidable and upworthy collective come together to investigate the gaps in society; between rich and poor, between 'them and us' and between you and I.

Open Grave
Synopsis:
McLean's first-person narrative unfolds in a dead-end town, where she becomes best friends with Parisa, attracted by the unfamiliar exotica of her Asian extraction. Both born on Hallowe'en a minute apart, they become best friends like no others, the light and shade of an awfully big adventure. A lifetime on, and McLean's survivor is having kaleidoscopic dreams about death and the life they used to have.

Self Contained
Synopsis:
Keeping it together when disaster strikes isn't easy. the quartet thrown together by a flood of biblical proportions in this new work survive via a variety of self-protective strategies. Order is the key for the prim-and-proper mother figure, who walls herself in with a neatly structured array of empty tin cans. water bottles and blind faith in suburban mores that reveal the neuroses behind the smile. A little girl is dazzled by the stories told to her by one of the men, who looks to the stars for comfort. the father figure, meanwhile, has constructed a vacuum-packed world that he'd happily stay in for ever, if only the last of the canned rations hadn't just been wolfed down.
