Astroland
Synopsis:
Less the Band is a collaboration of five New York City artists with no front man: Rapp (guitar, vocals), Michael Chernus (bass, vocals), Paul Sparks (guitar, vocals), Ray Rizzo (drums, sampler, vocals) and Rob Beitzel (guitar, vocals). the following description is from the press materials: "Astroland is part rock opera and part postmodern fable. In it, the Brooklyn-based band combines live music with video animations and filmed interviews to tell the story of Steve and Molly, who board a train for Coney Island to face down the apocalypse. Along the way, they encounter freak show luminaries, second comings, Winnebagos, and strange plastic formations inexplicably sprouting from the ocean's gut-as they seek out a path toward redemption and transcendence."

Will Work For. . .
Synopsis:
This is part of the BoCoCa Arts Festival. Will Work For. . . is an exploration of the effects the recession has had on individuals and artists told through humorous and heartfelt scenes. Within this collection of short pieces, the audience travels through the mind of fired employees, the process of job interviewing, the meaning of relationships when stressed by financial burden, and the route to obtain government funding. Through humor, satire or sentiment, these pieces unwind the challenges of financial insecurity and confront the audience with this relevant theme.
