Originally from Glasgow but lives in London. Has written plays, short stories, articles and most recently screenplays but is best known for his novels, the titles of which include "LOVE AND PEACE WITH MELODY PARADISE", "MILK, SULPHATE AND ALBY STARVATION", "LUX the POET", "DREAMS OF SEX AND STAGE DIVING", "the GOOD FAIRIES OF NEW YORK" and published in April 2002, "SUZY, LED ZEPPELIN AND ME". Under the pseudonym of Martin Scott he writes the science fantasy series "THRAXAS" for which he won the prestigious US 'World Fantasy Award' in 2001. He co-wrote with Doon Mackichan an adaptation of Austen's "Emma" which opened at the Edinburgh Festival 2000 and transferred to Watford Palace in the same year. Also in 2001, Ruby Films/Sky Pictures optioned his first spec screenplay "TANYA FASHION QUEEN". Created the format for teen show "DOLPHIN SQUAD" for Keith Chapman Productions/Universal and is developing original ideas for film and tv.

Primadoona

Synopsis:
Primadoona is a true story of a time when life was turned upside down. Written and performed by Doon Mackichan its a roller coaster ride from the heights of celebrity to the depths of despair. Primadoona is a frantic and hilariously brave physical performance that charts the depths of three dark, painful and miraculous years in Mackichans life. The production was awarded a coveted Scotsman Fringe First accolade and played to packed out audiences for the entire run at the Gilded Balloon. This no-holds barred piece of comedy theatre shows the strength of a woman who is not scared to allow people to laugh at her nightmares.
