Michele Miller is a performer, writer, and educator born and raised in New Jersey. She earned her Master's in Educational Theatre from New York University in 2009 and received her B.F.A in Acting from Adelphi University in 2003. Michele's writing has been showcased with Emerging Artists One Woman Standing Festival and the 2013 United Solo Festival, published with American Alliance for Theatre and Education's digital magazine Incite Insight, and The Write Teacher(s).com. She has performed with many national touring and regional theatre productions, such as New England Shakespeare Festival, Omaha Theatre Company for Young People, Chamber Theatre Productions, and George Street Playhouse. Michele has taught performing arts at theatre companies and dance schools throughout the country. including Papermill Playhouse, McCarter Theatre Company, and Vital Theatre Company. From 2009 to 2012 Michele was the Chair of the Arts Department at Emily Fisher Charter School in Trenton, New Jersey, where she was inspired to write How To Be A Successful Teacher, with the strong guidance of her dramaturge Paula Alekson. How To Be A Successful Teacher was directed in the United Solo Festival by Mary McGinley. Michele currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Adelphi University and Mercer County Community College and is the founder of Propbox Players, an emerging theatre company for young audience that aims to engage, excite, and educate through theatre.
