Synopsis:
Must a woman maintain her chastity after her husband's death? How does society react if a woman who becomes notorious for her debauchery is the widow of a national hero? Set at the dawn of Japan's Westernization in the Meiji period, this delightfully satirical comedy follows the notorious Oryo after the assassination of her husband, Ryoma Sakamoto (a freedom-fighting samurai credited for leading Japan's transformation from feudalism into a modern unified nation in the mid 19th century).
