Verne Moberg is a Swedish American translator and teacher of Scandinavian literature who lives in New York City. Her translation of Kristina Lugn's play Aunt Blossom was awarded the Inger Sjoberg Prize by the American-Scandinavian Foundation in 1997. She was the coproducer of the Nordic Theater Festival at Barnard College in 1995, which featured Lugn's Aunt Blossom and The Old Girls at Lake Garda, as well as works by Hrafnhildur Hagalin, Eeva-Liisa Manner, and Bjorg Vik. Dr. Moberg is a Lecturer in Scandinavian languages at Columbia University, where she has taught Swedish language and Scandinavian literature courses since 1988. She is currently at work on a book of English translations of plays by Lugn.
