David Mogolov lives, writes, and performs in Boston, but is, to his core, deeply Midwestern. Born in Iowa, and raised in Kansas, he's a fan of "flyover country." He attended Boston University, where he studied philosophy and journalism. He has been writing and performing solo shows since 2002. His scripts include One Night at TF Green (Chicago Single File Festival, 2003), I Got in a Fight, Diptych (co-authored with Sara Faith Alterman), There Is No Good News (Frigid Festival, NY, 2011), and Dumber Faster (FringeNYC, 2012). From 2007-2011, David was a member and Head Writer for Boston sketch comedy group The Ruckus, and he was the director of ImprovBoston's sketch comedy program for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Diptych
Synopsis:
Diptych started with a theme ("first times") and a shared line of dialogue ("I wouldn't do it again, but it was worth it."). David and Sara then separated for a month or so and wrote scripts: two 40 minute monologues. Reconvening in a coffee shop to share first drafts, it was clear that the show wasn't so much about first times as it was about anger and about the end of youth. And there was going to be a hell of a lot of rewriting. Performed on adjoining stages, Diptych ended up sprawling across six set locations and one backstage deathtrap full of scrap metal.

Dumber Faster
Synopsis:
David tries to reconcile the wonders of technology with his own rampant stupidity. How can a man with a smartphone be so consistently dumb? He'd blame the technology, but he can't. He's pretty sure his brain is at fault.

Eating My Garbage
Synopsis:
Dumbfounded by a call from a political pollster who sounds suspiciously like Laura Linney, David searches himself for a rational reason to believe the nation isn't utterly doomed. When he can't quite think of one, he turns to irrational reasons. That's when his search gets more promising.

I Got in a Fight
Synopsis:
I wasn't looking for a fight. I'd just stopped at a CVS on the way to a movie. I was looking for Swedish Fish, and for a gift for a friend who'd been a little uptight lately. I selected an Oscar the Grouch rectal thermometer. A little crass, but perfect for the circumstance. I Got in a Fight brings together tales of fights, violence and injury to illustrate a surefire five-step process for making your way through a world full of people just looking for an excuse to punch you in the face. Drawing on parking lot brawls with drunken rednecks, moshpit accidents, London barfights and a childhood spent evaluating pediatric emergency rooms, Mogolov's advice may not sound like wisdom, but it's not entirely stupid.

One Night at T F Green
Synopsis:
For Thanksgiving of 2001, I went to visit some family in Virginia. Instead of flying back to Boston, I flew to T.F. Green airport in Warwick, Rhode Island. I was going to catch a bus to Boston. But the flight was delayed and I missed the last bus. The 85% true story of a young man's night just a short bus ride from home, but seemingly on another planet. T.F. Green is a world populated by lunatics, prostitutes, police, drunks, drug dealers, birthday girls, drunken pianists, and the very bored driver of a Zamboni-style floor cleaner.
