the new South Africa has been remarkable in its refUSAl to seek vengeance for past injustices, most jaw-droppingly apparent with the news last week that PW Botha will be given a state funeral. Even so, there are still pockets of Afrikaners who can never accept their loss of power. Kobus Moolman's play is set in 1994 shortly after Nelson Mandela's election as President. On a farm in the Transvaal, Jack Klafi"s Oom is struggling to raise an army to re-establish white superiority, while his blind niece's portentous dreams conveniently uphold his conviction that God is on their side. they go into battle with the Bible in one hand and a gun in the other.
