Day of Knowledge, The

Synopsis:
One month after a hostage crisis at a middle school, in which hundreds of people, mostly children, died, the survivors and their families have barely begun to move forward. This is particularly true for a family that has taken in a mute, unidentified boy who was rescued during the climax of the crisis. When a woman shows up from the neighboring province -- the same province the terrorists came from -- claiming that the boy is her nephew, a new standoff begins. Only this time, the roles of enemy, kidnapper and protector are much less clear.

In Times of War

Synopsis:
In the early months of World War II, a Jewish-American military attorney is assigned to defend the life of a suspected German saboteur in a secret tribunal ordered by the U.S. President. Inspired by actual events (the effects of which are still being debated today), the play examines the uneasy balance between civil rights and security, and the difficult journey from distrust to mutual respect made by the attorney and the accused.

In Addition to winning A Joseph Jefferson Citation for "Outstanding New Work" in the 2006-2007 theater season, IN TIMES OF WAR was named A Semi-Finalist for the 2006 National Playwrights Conference At the Eugene O'Neill theater Center, A Finalist in the Reva Shiner Full-Length Play Contest At the Bloomington Playwrights Project, And won First Prize in the 2005 Arch And Bruce Brown Foundation Playwriting Contest.
