Blue Day
Blue Day
Synopsis:
In 2005 AlessandroCorazzi wrote the play "L'ora dElla Perla", whose title is a quotation by Steinbeck, and decided to give birth to Blue Day. Whereas the play "L'ora dElla perla" faces present problems: the alienating factory work, the impossibility of living a love due to the lack of money, firing for no reason, Blue day's main core is the economical crisis. the story is about a man, Giulio, who is feeling blue after loosing his job. Giulio decides to set fire to himself in front of the factory which dismissed him. He calls the TV Stations and the local newspaper but nobody will assist him. Carlotta is an 18-year-old lighthearted and mild lady who wants to dissuade him. the play faces living matters; changeable mortgage rates, precarious jobs, too easy labour mobility, love and its trouble due to financial problems, young couples which cannot afford a flat and cannot start a family, effort and alienation of factory work, our fathers' difficulties to start a family, dissatisfaction and lack of smiles. Alessandro Corazzi makes us think about our present world; economical crisis and personal defeats which are tormenting the present man. His antihero has a head-hanging notice which says: I have lost! His Drama does not only represent human defeats but also hopes, through the character of Carlotta, for a better future: it is worth living a life apparently full of defeats because of the everyday's joys. With the play Blue day, Alessandro establishes himself as a writer committed in social themes, like the problems of the present worker. the author used projections to show our fathers' and our, as sons/daughters, working and personal experience. Despite being very young, Alessandro Corazzi has been working for years for theatre and cinema, side by side with the actor and film director Dario D'Ambrosi. He has started writing and producing plays on his own for several years. Corazzi can combine actuality and tradition presenting plays for any kind of audience thanks to their clear language.
