Playwright Matt Morrison's play Inside Out was produced at the inaugural HighTide festival. Since then he has written work for Theatres and companies including the Gate Theatre, Clwyd theatr Cymru, DryWrite, the Miniaturists, the Old Vic Tunnels, In the Same Boat and Menagerie. His play Marchers was developed in conjunction with the National Theatre Studio and performed at the White Bear Theatre. His next play, Brightest and Best, will be produced by We Were Here in early 2011, directed by Natalie Ibu. Matt has also written short stories, radio comedy for the BBC, and two non-fiction books.

Marchers

Synopsis:
Matt Morrison's play starts with the staple set-up of a new flatmate moving in. This is Tom, a mildly weird, over-eager character that GEmma and Steve bring back from 2003's million-strong march against the Iraq war. Homeless and unemployed, Tom is doomed to clash with the third flatmate, Mark, a career-minded political lobbyist. Steve (he's an out-of-work actor- yawn) is the politically-motivated one. GEmma, his girlfriend, who works in an animal research lab, is just along for the ride. When the flat gets - very tamely -trashed by anti-vivisectionists and GEmma and Mark round on Tom as the unknown quantity, Steve puts their relationship on the line by taking a stand.

Through the Night
