Tijuana, Mexico is where German Munoz will always call home. He wrote his first play when he was 13 and it was pretty bad. Nonetheless, seeing it performed by his junior high class caused him much exhilaration. the thought of becoming a playwright didn't materialize until much later when his mother dragged him to see Edward Albee's "Three tall women" after her friend cancelled at the last minute. Seeing this play, performed in Spanish, made him realize how powerful and moving Theater could be. His own short plays have been performed as part of the site-specific Asphalt Jungle Shorts in Kitchener, Canada; at Freehold Theatre in Seattle, USA and in London at the Bush Theatre (Drywrite), Arcola Theatre (the Miniaturists) and Theatre503 (Rapid Write Response). In fall 2012 he was commissioned to write a short play for Papercut Theatre's XY ("Hopelessly devoted to you") which premiered at Theatre503 in December 2012 and was part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2013 at the Pleasance Courtyard. In Spring 2013 he was selected as part of the Arvon/Jerwood Mentoring scheme for 2013-2014 and is being mentored by professional playwright Amy Rosenthal.
