Gerald Murphy is a high school English teacher, a playwright, composer, songwriter, singer, banjo, guitar and mandolin player, and very poor actor who has the worst memory for lines in the galaxy. He has had more than thirty plays and musicals published and has had his shows performed in over twenty countries. In his leisure time he plays in a music group called "the Celtic Cats" in his home city of Yreka, California with his wife, Nicole. He has three grown children and three (so far) grandchildren. "I just might be the luckiest and happiest man I know," reports Mr. Murphy.

Pastoral Care
Synopsis:
Part of Tiny Plays for Ireland: Fishamble, in partnership with the Irish Times, asked the Irish public what can be achieved with three minutes of stage time, what are the issues that need to be addressed, and who are the people that should be brought to life in the theatre? Fishamble received over 1,700 plays from every county in Ireland and many countries beyond. Tiny Plays for Ireland combines selected works by members of the public and dramas by some of Ireland's best loved writers to provide one dramatic picture of Ireland at the crossroads.

Take Me Away
Synopsis:
Take Me Away has a Father and three adult sons gathered to discuss what to do after the mother, understandably wearied by their petulant version of family life, has fled to stake out a ew and independant life for herself. Emotionaly closed to one another and to any sensibleinteraction with mankind in general, they bicker and excavate old wounds from their shared past; there is no solace but only bitterness in their continuing relationships.
