Hang Down Your Head And Die
Synopsis:
It was improvised at a workshop, developed into a script by David Wright. It was first performed by the Experimental theatre Club of Oxford University in 1963, at the Oxford Playhouse. It was experimental theatre; included songs, dance, mime, Punch & Judy, folklore -- anything appropriate. the theme was capital punishment; the format was a circus, with ringmasters as the Establishment, strongman as Hangman, clown as Condemned, carpet clowns as vox pop.
