Ben Musgrave grew up in Britain, Bangladesh and IndiA. He teaches creative writing at Westminster University, and is a fellow of the Macdowell Colony, New Hampshire. He was a member of the Forum of Young European Playwrights (Wiesbaden, Germany 2008. Ben is currently under commission to Only Connect Theatre. Exams Are Getting Easier

Synopsis:
If someone could listen, properly - what would you say? Fallon' s yard - a once thriving industrial works but now a derelict wasteland. the place where the young monsters go. A place where things happen - mad stuff you wouldn't believe. . .A young woman lies in a coma after a brutal attack. A group of outraged vigilantes take to the streets. the police need answers and there's one place they think they'll find them. But Stephen, King of Fallon's yard, has gone missing. . .We may think we know why, but we don't know why. This sane and over excited, yobbish and polite new play by Ben Musgrave, Winner of the 2006 Bruntwood Playwriting Competition, tackles issues of education, identity, belonging ang self-esteem and in doing so, challenges perceptions of the ASBO generation.

Only Connect is a creative Arts company and crime prevention charity for prisoners, ex-offenders and at-risk youth. the play is performed by ex-offenders, with convictions ranging from firearms to drugs offences, and at-risk youth.

Pretend You Have Big Buildings

Synopsis:
the prize-winning debut play from Ben Musgrave, a tender and funny play about growing up in Romford in the shadow of Canary Wharf. 1995. Big buildings are rising in London's Docklands. But marooned miles to the east, half-in and half-out of the city, Romford has not been invited to the party. Confused about its identity, the inhabitants of the 'only town in London with its own ring road' are trying to cope. the relationships they forge have painful implications, in this poetic and passionate play that explores growing up, identity and loss.
