Valentino is a Sydney playwright whose works include: Elegy For George Harrison (Actors' Centre, Sydney, Aug 2002), Meat Pies & Mortadella (TAP Gallery, Sydney, Oct - Nov 2003; reading at La Mama, Feb 2004, as part of Carnevale on Lygon), Cosmic Cucuzza (La Montage, Sydney, Dec 2003). In 2002, Meat Pies & Mortadella won the Dante Alighieri Society Prize for Best Script and was short-listed by the Tamarama Rock Surfers for their 2003 season at the Old Fitzroy Theatre, Sydney. Meat Pies in 2004 was, , read at La Mama Theatre, Melbourne. Valentino is now working on The International Corporate Soul Bifurcator and The Greater West.

Meat Pies And Mortadella

Synopsis:
The 1970s. Brickwood. Sydney's Greater West. "Get some Aussie in yer or go home!"? bawl the footy boys, Field Goal and Mad Dog. Then they encourage the recalcitrant Braccio di Ferro di Calabria to accept their offer by kicking his head in. From his hospital bed, Braccio commands his only child, Fantastica, to exact revenge. Can a poor immigrant girl on her lonesome make salami out of the footy boys? LOOKING FOR ALIBRANDI meets ROMPER STOMPER.
