Another Metropolis
Synopsis:
Two married couples drink made-to-order martinis and discuss the state of the thriller in the contemporary theatre. Frederick maintains the thriller has lost its appeal because audiences have become desensitized to the passions that trigger the murderous imPulse essential to the genre. His friend Ira, on the other hand, disputes this claim, suggesting that Frederick himself could be easily provoked to commit mayhem, and presents a scenario to test Frederick's reaction-and his beliefs. Winner in the Henrico One-Act Play Competition, 2004.
