Synopsis:
12-year-old Chelsea Tickerman's mother has cancer. As the clock in the front hall steadily marks each passing moment, Chelsea can see the dragon of her mother's death, hovering. In a bold move, she embarks on a fantastical quest to slay this dragon and save her mother. Along the way, encounters with scientists, seagulls, interstellar gondoliers, and finally the clock-smith at the center of the universe bring her to a new understanding of life, death, and the nature of time.
