Conversation With My Father, A

Conversation With My Father, A
This is a story about them. This is a story about us. This is a story about my dad - a retired policeman - and me, a protestor. It's about fear, bravery, what it feels like to be kettled, Super Ted, the Lone Ranger, policing the people in front of you, and being sent out of class. It's about working out what matters, and standing up to protect it. It's about me, and my dad. Mostly, an earnest one-person show that also includes the odd joke or two (because all serious things are worth laughing at).

So interesting, engaging and relatable. Beautifully human. Audience feedback in Newcastle

This collection brings together three pieces made in collaboration with a series of other artists, musicians and people in the street, from 2012 to 2015. Songs for Breaking Britain

Songs for Breaking Britain
Hannah and her company are collecting stories stories from people just getting by, people who don't think they're important, anyone who will stop and talk to them. Bored of the media selling our stories back to us, they are mixing up the old idea of the ballad by sharing stories and passing them on with a modern form of righteous storytelling: punk music. Three chords, rhyming couplets, lots of noise. Songs from the market place, from the street, of romance, graft, boredom, everyday defeat.

Notes:
Hannah will be working with Sean Arnold, a Dundee-based punk musician, best known as part of Scottish Emo band Bonehouse, and Keir Cooper, a London-based jazz punk musician who'll be on drums.
